Circassians (Adyghe) is one of the ancient nations in the world with its own culture, way of life and ethics. At the beginning of the last century they occupied a large territory mainly between the Black and the Caspian Seas at the foot of the Caucasus.

They were known as the greatest warriors and foreigners called them the aristocrats of the Caucasus because of the elegant clothes (cherkesska) they wore, a knightly behaviour, which was the base ofadyghe's moral code - "Adyhge Khabza". Members of the tsar's family preferred their sons have been upbrought by Adyghes. This ancient tradition known as institution of "Atalychestvo" was totally devoted to knightly training of young people.

In the 19-th century Circassians had suffered a national tragedy. After the Russia-Caucasian War people practically were deprived of their Motherland. As a result they were dispersed all over the world. The descendants of Circassians-Mukhadjirs live now in 56 countries.
